History

YWAM is an international, non-denominational Christian training and social outreach organization. Founded in 1960 YWAM, is operating internationally out 1100 campuses, in 180 countries. YWAM Burundi was started in 2012 by native Burundians, Jagen and Ruth Nzunguri, and the campus is currently situated  in the village called KABEZI, which is 16 km from the capital city of Bujumbura.

YWAM has been involved in a range of activities from staff training to community and social justice programs. Since 2012, the community of Kabezi has seen tremendous growth. Around 300 children currently benefit from different programs that center around social justice. YWAM Burundi has employed a holistic approach to reach out to the community of Kabezi from their faith to their basic needs.

YWAM Burundi has also been running Discipleship Training Schools and other different trainings, which empower local leaders, transform lives, and equip people to fulfill Jesus' Great Commission.
